An Eco View of the World
Everything from responsible travel to wildlife and welfare conservation efforts.
Travelling in a responsible way by participating in tourism directed towards threatened environments, especially to support conservation efforts to promote human and animal welfare.
Engaging in efforts to embrace diversity in order to maintain human dignity-from understanding a heritage to customs and values.
Participating in efforts to conserve nature for future generations and to recognize the importance of wildlife and wilderness for humans and other species alike.
Adopting a lifestyle using advances that are better for the environment and that will ensure a sustainable future.
As I look back on my early travels I remember referring to them as a vacation. It was always about enjoying myself without truly acknowledging the culture or the inhabitants. It took me many years but eventually I realized that travelling should be more than that. An inspiring trip showed me that travel can be an escape but it can also be a humbling, empowering and most importantly, eye-opening experience.
This trip involved volunteering with an endangered species whilst working alongside local communities. That experience left me with a desire to make a change not only when I travel. After all, long after I came home, I still implemented everything I learned. Lessons that involved addressing environmental and social injustices. Of course I want to continue to explore the world but most importantly, I want to raise awareness to preserve and protect it.
